The Specials, Tiffanys, November 1979 with The Selecter and Dexys

Possibly as good as it got, The Specials at Tiffanys, November 1979 with The Selecter and Dexys Midnight Runners. Actually the mad City Centre Club gig was the high point for gigs in Cov but none of my films from that gig came out.

Ever the gentleman, Horace Panter being interviewed in Wimpys by Martin Bowes and Julia Waller for Alternative Sounds, prior to the Tiffanys gig

First time I’ve seen photos of Neville Staples going from rung to rung across the front of the stage like a gymnast, my best memory of this gig.

Again top pics of a “special” time. Shows off the revolving stage and the interior of the worn out Tiffany’s interior; not just great pics but a great social history record. Many thanks again for posting these. Look forward to seeing hard copies exhibited in the future.

it was a top gig – as for Neville’s gymnastics I remember the first time I saw the Specials was at Peoples nightclub in Norwich where you could almost touch the ceiling and the speaker stack was not far off it and somehow he still climbed on top during Monkey Man! such an awesome band live and many happy memories of Dexy’s in Norwich as well
